If
you’re an adventurous spirit who longs for an escape from the ordinary vacation…then you really must answer the call of Idaho’s Land of the Yankee Fork. There’s
nothing
like
it
anywhere-anywhere!
But
we
warn
you,
the
call
is
strong
and
once
you
answer
it,
you’ll never be the same. You’ll want to come back again and again. We know, we came here some 33 years ago in an effort to escape the “routine” of
the
city:
the
crowds,
th e
traffic,
the
noise,
the
mundane.
We
answered “the call” and
never
looked
back!
Now
we
invite
you
to
come
to
the
Land
of
the
Yankee
Fork,
stay
in
one
of
our
rustic
cabins
(some
of
them
are
1880s
rustic!)
and
begin
the
journey
of
your
lifetime…the
journey
into
the
historic
heart
of
Idaho.
Prospectors,
afflicted
with
the “Gold
Fever”,
first
entered
this
magnificent,
rugged
area
in
the
1860s
as
they
sought
their
fortunes
along
a
large
tributary
of
the
Salmon
River,
also
called
The
River
of
No
Return.
These
first
gold-seekers
found
spectacular
mountain
vistas, pristine
mountain
lakes,
and
untouched
forests
rich
with
an
array
of
wildlife
unsurpassed
anywhere.
For
all
the
hardships
they
endured,
and
all
the
wonders
they
discovered,
the
gold
they
sought
remained
undetected.
Richer
by
far
through
their
experiences,
the
early
prospectors
moved
on
in
their
search
for
wealth,
leaving
behind
them
the
swift
stream
they
called
the “Yankee
Fork” and
the
land
that
would
continue
to
beckon
to
other
fortune
seekers.
Idaho’s
History
of gold
mining
in the
Land
of the
Yankee
Fork is
intriguing
to say
the
least. |
